Write Faster And Better

If you’re like me you dream of being able to write more every day and have a huge library of published books and a slew of websites with hundreds of pages of useful articles and other information and millions of visitors a month.

Ahh… wouldn’t it be nice?

I’m not there yet but I am getting there.

How about you?

Do you dream of the same writing goals?

If so, what’s holding you back?

It’s probably the same thing that’s held me back too.

Practice.

That is the ‘secret’.

If you want to write more you need to write faster so that you can tackle more large writing projects such as books.

Writing faster means writing more and it also means writing better.

In other words, practice will help you write faster and improve the way you write at the same time.

If you want to write faster and write and publish more, do what I always do and get a course or an ebook that you can follow that will get you started and keep you writing.

Some courses I’ve used are:

Quick Cash Writing. Great for writing all kinds of smaller projects such as filler articles, short stories and greeting card verse.

Write Any Book in 28 Days or Less. Laid out in an easy to follow style and suitable for writing fiction and non-fiction. Just follow the advice as you go through the course and by the end you’ll have your manuscript written.
http://writeaholics.net/links/writequickly.html

12 Month Writing Challenge. A course that gives you monthly assignments that build on top of each other so that by this time next year you’ll not only have earned over $30K from the course, but you’ll have multiple streams of passive income to keep you going.

7 Day Ebook Writing and Publishing System. If you want to write ebook fast, this course will get you there. Short how-to ebooks can help you to earn a steady, passive income. When you download this course, you’ll also receive the bonus ebook 2 Hour Short Report Writing: How to write a short report or ebook in just 2 hours.

http://cheritonhousepublishing.com/books/7day.html

Can you imagine how much writing you’d be able to do and how much money you’d earn if your downloaded and worked on writing courses such as these?

There are many more writing courses available to download online so there really is no excuse for not getting started today, even if you don’t have an idea of what you want to write.

All you need is a goal of what you want to achieve then get to work and do it.

Some people never get started with their writing because they’re afraid they’ll fail. While others are afraid they’ll succeed.

If you don’t make a determined start now, what will you achieve in one week’s time, in a month or in a year?

Nothing.

Ask yourself this:

  • What is your goal with your writing?
  • How are you going to achieve it?
  • Why haven’t you started?

Now would be a great time to begin.

I've Brought the Dead Back to Life - And It's Free!

Last year I began a free series of emails and free ebooks about how to write articles and ebooks quickly and how it could help you to earn more money.

I created them because I put links in them to a couple of writing products that I was selling as an affiliate.

I actually owned the products myself and really liked them so I agreed to help market them.

Everything was going fine until I hit a huge snag...

This is the Time of Year When Writing Gets Faster

In many parts of the world, the weather is cooling down and winter will arrive in a few weeks.

In other parts of the world (including mine), the weather is getting warmer and summer will be here soon.

But no matter where you live in the world, now is the time of year when writing gets faster, and if you get involved you can be blown away with your writing speed and output.

My Week of Non-Stop Writing

This has been a busy week for me. I've been writing non-stop.

Well, it's not just been writing but researching and gathering material.

I'm currently working on my next ebook for writers and I've decided to add two bonus products as well.

By the time I'm finished, this will be one massive offer with everything you need to start writing and making money.

Writing Quickly Can Be Done

My latest obsession, as you know, is writing quickly.

I was intrigued to know if it was possible.

I know I can write quickly because I can type at up to 80 words per minute. But that’s usually when I’m typing up what I’ve already written by hand so it requires no thinking.

But what if I had to write (type) quickly without working from handwritten notes?

Would my writing be up to quality or would writing quickly make me churn out garbage?

Surprising, (and I was surprised, I have to confess) writing faster has not altered the quality of my writing. It has just speeded up the process because it leaves me no time to doubt what I’m writing.

The Interesting 100 Book Challenge

A few days ago I downloaded a Kindle book from Amazon called “6 Figures a Year Writing Kindle Books: 100 Book Challenge” by John Allen. UPDATE: This book is no longer available so I've changed the link to an even better book from one of my favourite writers, Dean Wesley Smith, "How to Write a Novel in Half a Month."

Now if you know me at all you’ll know I love a good writing challenge.
But writing 100 ebooks in year?

I was intrigued to read this book and I managed to read it through in about only 30 minutes. It’s not a huge book but it was interesting.

In it, the author said that the average Kindle non-fiction book is 8,000 words and fiction 15,000. His idea is to write 100 non-fiction books.

I don’t want to do a review of the book here but I do want to share what intrigued me, which was how lazy I am when it comes to writing.

The Irony of Writing Quickly

My latest writing experiments have been in writing more quickly. I've been writing short reports, ebooks and articles and it's all working pretty well because my writing speed has increased which means that I can write more without having to write longer.

I've found other advantages too because it helps me to stay focused.

You see the way it works is that when I sit down to write, I give myself a set amount of time to do it. So for a short article, I only allow myself a few minutes to do it. For a small ebook or report I allow 2 hours.

So because I have only a short amount of time to get my writing done, it keeps my attention where it should be because I don't have the time to get distracted. There is a saying that we stretch our work to fit the time that we have to do it. So the less time I give myself, the quicker I get it done.

Which means that, because I'm writing more in less time than it used to take, I should have more time for other things, right?

Wrong. And I just couldn't believe the irony.

What is Currently Inspiring and Influencing Me to Write More

Raining in on the deck
At the moment I have to say that writing  more every day isn't that hard.

Why?

Because the weather is terrible and it's been pouring heaving rain for days. I can't even sit out on the deck and write like I usually do because it's so windy it keeps blowing the rain in and everything just feels damp at the moment.

And I have more free time because I now can't do any gardening (I usually like to get in an hour or 2 every day) and the dogs are laying on my bed every day, looking worried that I might want to walk them. Fat chance of that. Their 2 walks a day are currently down to zero (or a fast 15 minute walk like we had yesterday when the rain eased for a short while in the afternoon).

Today, however, the rain shows no sign of easing up at all, not even to light showers. It's just lashing down continually, the drains in the road are gushing like fountains and the road itself is a river.

But none the less, I have been writing more, and thinking about it a lot, not because it's raining so much, but because I've found two things that are really spurring me on.

Writing Resources to Help Increase Your Creativity and Productivity

This week I wrote an article for my Writeaholics.net website about how to write an ebook in 2 days.

The inspiration for the article was from some products created by Jason Fladlien that I downloaded last week.

All his products are about writing quickly, creating more products and making more money online. Jason himself is a prolific writer and he can create information products almost on the fly because he has spent the last few years perfecting his technique for fast writing, better time management, high productivity and working to deadlines to improve his speed and performance.

My Article Writing Experiment

This week I downloaded an ebook about article writing that I've wanted to download for a while but wasn't sure if it would be worthwhile.

Thankfully, my skepticism was unfounded and the ebook turned out to be a gem. It's all about writing articles quickly. In fact it promises to teach you how to write an article in just a few minutes. Less than 10 minutes.

So I read through the ebook (it wasn't very long) and then sat down and gave it a try.

And do you know what I discovered?

How to Write 1,000 Words Quickly

There has been a lot of interest in a short post a wrote last week called "How to Write 1,000 Words". This was a time-lapsed video of a writer creating a 1,000-word blog post.

So I thought I'd expand on this because I often receive comments about how much I write, I how much I do in a day and how I do it all.

But it's really not that hard. I mean, yes I'm busy, but I'm enjoying it so it doesn't always feel like work.

And I think it all comes down to mindset, or to put it another way, knowing how much you're capable of doing in a day so that you don't overwhelm yourself or your daily 'to do' list.

Now I'm a pretty consistent writer. I write every day, and usually only week days unless I have a pressing deadline.

But I don't write all day. I work for a few hours a day and then stop.

I'm not one of those hype-merchants who brags on and on about how much money I earn for doing very little. Instead I'm a bit of a plodder. I work, I write, I earn money, I repeat it all.

I have a great work-life balance and I love it. And yes, I could work more and earn more, but I enjoy my life just how it is.

So now to get down to writing quickly, which is really what you're probably doing already but you just don't know it.
