How I Got Into a Creative "Zone"

I told you recently about how I moved from a 4 bed house into a teeny-tiny 2 bed house and how difficult it was.

I think it's easier to move from a smaller place into a somewhere bigger because you can fit all your stuff in easily with room to spare.

But downsizing was much harder with my new little house bursting at the seams with too much stuff. But it's okay now because most of my unnecessary possessions have gone.

Downsizing means I'll have more time for writing and doing other things I want to do, which was the plan.

But the initial stress of moving was hard and it certainly was leaving me in no mood to write.
But I had to.

So how did I cope?

I'm not going to lie. It was hard (almost bloody impossible) to sit down in a room full of clutter and half-unpacked boxes, and get into a creative frame of mind to write, when I know that I've got days of chaos ahead of me.

So I had to escape. Physically and mentally.

And if you've read Rachel Aaron's amazing book, "2k to 10k: Writing Faster, Writing Better, and Writing More of What You Love" (http://writeaholics.net/articles/2013/2k-to-10k-a-day.html), you'll know how important it is to work away from home when you want to write more.

But I didn't have the luxury of writing in a cafe or a park at that time because I still had to be around to have a say in where stuff was to go as it was unpacked by Dean.

So I used my dog walking time to physically escape for an hour a day and to get out into nature and take deep breaths.

When I got back I'd try to ignore the mountains of clutter and sit and write facing a blank wall and try to forget my surroundings.

I also used my Brain Salon audios while I wrote, particularly the Razor Sharp Focus and Creative Spark tracks.

These saved my sanity.

When each day finally ended, as far as unpacking was concerned, I'd then escape out onto the big Brain Evolution recordings.
wooden deck, lay on the settee swing and plug myself into my current 30 minutes of bliss at the end of each chaotic day.

Without my physical and mental escapes I don't know how I would have survived those two crazy weeks.

It's so difficult when item after item is unpacked and you have nowhere for it to go.

The move certainly made me realize how much unnecessary clutter we've wasted our money on over the years.

Thank goodness for my Brain Salon and Brain Evolution audios.

I've been using them for the last few years and wouldn't be without them.

If you want to see how good they are you can try them for free.

The Brain Salon website has a free demo you can download any time.

You can try Brain Evolution for free for one month if you download it during January, so there isn't much time left.

And the audios aren't new-age music.

They're specially created brain entrainment audios that contain binaural beats (amongst other things which are all sounds of nature) that can instantly change your state of mind and help you focus, relax and even sleep deeper than you ever have before.

I use Brain Salon while I'm working, Brain Evolution while I'm relaxing and Brain Salon's Deep Sleep track when I need it too.

Try the Brain Evolution free one month trial before the end of January and see for yourself the difference it can make.

With Brain Evolution you listen to each track once a day for a month and then use the next one for a month, etc, until you've worked through all 6 tracks.

And anytime you want, you can do it all over again.

Try the first month's track free.

You can download it in seconds.
