Discounted Ebooks For Writers

Discounted Ebooks for Writers.“Percent” image by renjith krishnan
A few weeks ago I decided to change the price of my ebooks which has resulted in discounted ebooks for writers for many people.

The decision to change my prices came about because all my ebooks (and books) were priced in US dollars.

So I made a management decision to change the currency in which I sell them, to Australian dollars.

The reason I priced them in US dollars in the first place was because most people understand the value of the US dollar and relatively few people (except those in Oz) understand the value of the Australian dollar.

But because I'm Australian and my publishing company is established in Australia, I decided to make all my books and ebooks available for sale in Australian dollars and this has resulted in discounted ebooks for those purchasing them from the US.

This is because our dollar is higher in value than a US dollar and so the comparative American price is now significantly lower for all my ebooks for writers.

I've also provided a currency converter on all my sales pages so that the price can be converted instantly to any currency, so you can see how it compares to the country that you live in and the currency that you use.

You can see all my new ebooks and book prices at http://cheritonhousepublishing.com.

And for those of you living in the US, it means you can now buy my products at significantly discounted prices.

Self Publishing Is Easy, But Writers Still Keep Making Excuses

“Books And Computer” by jscreationzs FreeDigitalPhotos.net
The thing that never ceases to amaze me about being a writer, is how easy it is now to publish every book I write.

Not too many years ago, if you wanted to be an author, you had to spend years sending out your manuscripts to publishing companies hoping that one of them would like your work and offer to publish it.

Not only that, but royalties were low (sometimes only 5%) and you had to wait 1 or 2 years before your book was published, and even then there was no guarantee of making huge sales.

And if that wasn’t enough, most publishing companies would pull your book if it didnt’ sell at least 40,000 copies a year.

And in the meantime, you had to supplement your income, and try to get exposure in the media as a serious writer by constantly having articles published in magazines and other main stream media.

So it wasn’t easy, there was a lot of competition, and most writers’ books were never published.

But now it’s so easy to self publish.

You can write as many books as you want and published them as print books or ebooks (or both) for free AND your book is made available worldwide in just one day - or less.

And you can go on selling your books for years no matter how many sales you make.

It’s so easy compared to how it used to be and yet writers are still making excuses for not writing and publsihing their own books.

But if you start today you can publish a dozen books, or more, every year.

If you sit down and write every day, even if it’s just for an hour (or a lunch break), you can still write a book in a month.

Or what if you wrote and published just 2 books a year? It’s still 2 more books than you’re publishing now.

And when the process is repeated, not only will you have a great daily writing habit and a writing and publishing system set up, but you’ll also have dozens of books being sold all over the world.

There are many authors who just sit and write books all the time and now have 80 or more books in circulation.

Self publishing is also free to do and once set up, goes on working while you’re writing your next book.

I love self publishing because it’s not only revolutionised the way I work, but it’s enabled me to be able to earn all my income from my writing.

So today, right now, I’m sitting at home, writing, and earning money.

How about you?

How to Never Miss a Great Writing Idea Again

“Think Different” by lekkyjustdoit FreeDigitalPhotos.net
I don’t know about you, but my biggest problem is that my best ideas come when I’m doing things other than writing.

Sometimes, when I’m driving my car, a brilliant  idea will occur to me for an article or for the next chapter in my book.

So I’ll pull over, whip out my pad and pen and start writing. And when I’m in a creative window like this, the ideas just keep on flowing.

One day, I drove to the library for some distraction-free writing time. I parked in the car park under a tree. The library is on the edge of a park which makes the car park really shady.

And as I turned off the engine I had a brilliant idea for a short ebook I’d been wanting to write.

I got out of the car and opened the back door to get my writing bag off the back seat, but the idea was so clear in my mind that I didn’t want to lose it and waste time going into the library and setting up my stuff.

So I got into the back seat of the car, propped myself up with my back against one door and my feet against the other, and started writing.

I outlined my brilliant idea and then started writing the ebook. I just sat there for a couple of hours, writing and writing.

I vaguely heard other cars coming and going but I ignored them because I was so focused on what I was doing.

It was a really great window of inspiration and by the time I’d finished, I’d not only completed the first draft of my ebook, but I’d also outlined a few brilliant marketing articles to help promote it.

And I never actually went into the library at all.

But I know that if I hadn’t stopped right there and then, my window of opportunity would have been missed.

That’s the problem with getting a great idea when you’re out. By the time you get home to your computer, the inspiration is gone and the idea is lost.

So when the idea is there, and the opportunity to write it is there, just do it.

And if you have enough time to write a whole chapter of your book or write a whole short report then grab that opportunity too.

Ideas are a gift. You don’t expect them. You don’t pay for them. They’re given to you.

And the best thing you can do is use them straight away, because the gift is only offered once, and if you don’t seize it, it’s gone.

Grabbing every gift and using every window of inspiration can lead you to writing your next great book.

But only if you grab the opportunity when it’s there.
